Medical Emergency Response

July 11, 2017

It is seldom, if ever I report on medical emergency responses for palpable reasons.  It has reached a point whereby these devoted medical first responders need be recognized for the thousands of medical calls they respond to annually.  In the future, I hope to alter this practice.  No addresses or faces of patients will ever be published to shield the individuality of the patients, even if it is public information.

On Tuesday, 11 July 2017, at 1052 hours, your Millville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted and dispatched to the unit block of Atlantic Avenue for a Medical Emergency.

Millville VFC responded with an Ambulance, Fire Engine, 2-Sussex County Paramedics, along with Ocean View and Bethany Beach Police Departments.

The ambulance was manned by, EMT/FF John Arbeenne and EMT/FF Nat Mott.  Engine crew consisted of, Brian Mushrush, Chief Scott, EMS Chief Watson and FF Andrew Klink.

Sussex County Paramedics, Trent Hill and Fred Haas were on-site considering the nature of the call and supported the ambulance crew.

Ocean View Police Officer Bowden and Bethany Beach Police Officer Rogers shared traffic-control duties at the scene.
