Banks Liquor Store-Reported Lightning Strile

On 22 July 2014, at 1621 hours, your Millville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted and dispatched to Banks Liquor Store on Atlantic Avenue for a reported lightning strike.

Our brothers from Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company were also alerted and dispatched to assist MVFC.

MVFC Engines, 84-2 and 84-4, Truck 84, and Command 84 responded.  Deputy Chief Paul Sterling was tasked with commanding this situation.  These pieces of apparatus were manned by, Joe Vonakis, Ralph Hitchens, John Stephens, David Carr and Past Chief Douglas Scott.   

BBVFC responded with Quint 70 and Command 70.  There apparatus was manned by, Asst. Chief Tom Moore, Travis Hickman, Tyler Balas, Brandon Thomas and Garrett Piel.

MVFC Fire-Police were well-represented at this incident.  Fire-Police Captain Jack Melson, Harold Lloyd, Earl Green, Garland Seville and Harry Warburton.
