Service Call-No Heat

January 05, 2018

Bittersweet Call

On Friday, 5 January 2018, your Millville Volunteer Fire Company answered a Service Call to assist this beautiful older women.  She experienced a malfunction with her heating system and was living with a 40 degree inside temperature.  With no family close-by to help, the crew transported her back to the fire house in the Brush Unit while Fire Chief Richie Walls arranged to get her help.

To say she was brave was an understatement, not because she lived alone, no close relatives to help, but she happily shared and consumed a bowl of homemade “Firehouse Chili” and survived!!

This individual also agreed to a medical evaluation by EMS personnel Colby Norwood and Meghan Hudson to assure she suffered no type of medical problem.

This is just another example that we just don’t put out fires.
