Mulch Fire in the Salt Pond
April 23, 2018
On Monday afternoon, 23 April 2018, at 1208 hours, Millville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted by Sussex County EOC to respond to a mulch fire on Bethany Loop in the Salt Pond subdivision.
While the fire apparatus was in route, Fire Dispatch advised the fire had been extinguished by Captain Shawn Evans who was the officer in charge of this incident.
This is the time of year that creates the perfect conditions for spontaneous combustion with mulch products.
