April 29, 2018
On Sunday, 29 April 2018, at 1349 hours, your Millville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted and subsequently responded to a report of a gas-leak at the CVS Store at 54 Atlantic Avenue in Ocean View. Due to the type of call, Bethany Beach VFC was also alerted and responded with their ladder truck.
Asst. Chief Ty Webb (MVFC) was tasked with commanding this incident. After careful inspection of the structure with electronic gas-monitoring devices, no concentrations of gas were detected. Chief Webb secured the scene and those that were previously evacuated from CVS store were allowed re-entry to spend their money!
Captain’s Jack Melson and Bill Bowden Sr. (Fire-Police) did their usual excellent job of directing their specific groups today. There appeared to be a high-volume of vehicular traffic on Atlantic Avenue.
