Check Your Smoke Detectors

November 04, 2021

As daylight savings time approaches this weekend, we would like to remind all residents to check their smoke detectors when they set their clocks "back".  Working smoke detectors are a great way to keep your family safe!  If your smoke detectors are older than 10 years we recommend they be replaced.  We encourage all residents to upgrade their smoke detectors to a detector that uses a 10 battery.  Battery operated smoke detectors are available at all Delaware fire stations upon request.

Note:  If your smoke detectors are connected to a remote monitoring service we request you place your system on "test" prior to checking the operation of your detectors and then place your system back "on-line".  Have a fire safe weekend!
