This week Engine 84-6 went to Bams Hook and Hose Inc. in Denton, Maryland to have our new Holmatro Pentheon Series Rescue Tools mounted.  Bams did an awesome job, the new rescue tools are accessible and organized for quick deployment.

Many of our current Holmatro rescue tools were over twenty years old. Vehicle rescue technology has greatly improved over the years and the new rescue tools have greater cutting and prying capabilities reducing the time to extricate critically injures patients. The new tools are powered by Lithium-Ion batteries, thus eliminating the need for gasoline motors and cumbersome hydraulic lines. We purchased a cutter, combination tool, medium ram and two ram extensions. In addition, we purchased backup electrical adaptors for extended operations, an on-board spare battery charging system and an AC/DC power converter. In addition, training on the new rescue tool system was be included with the purchase.

The purchase of the new Holmatro Rescue Tools was made possible by funding provided under the 2022 Town of Ocean View Emergency Service Enhancement Funding Program.  The cost of the new rescue tools were approximately $49,000.00.  WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE TOWN OF OCEAN VIEW FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!
