On May 9^th, 2023 at 1335 hours Millville Volunteer Fire Company EMS and the Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a subject fallen in the 38000 block of Hemlock Drive in the Bethany Meadows development.  Upon evaluation of the patient by EMS personnel and consultation with medical direction, it was determined the most appropriate receiving medical facility for this patient would be Christiana Medical Center in New Castle County Delaware.  A helicopter was requested to meet the ambulance at our pre-determined landing zone at Melson’s Funeral Chapel at the corner of Muddy Neck Road and Parker House Road.  Life Net 2 was the closest available helicopter and was dispatched on the mission.  Rescue 84 and Engine 84-4, as well as MVFC fire police, provided scene safety and security at the landing zone.  Units operated for approximately 30 minutes.
