On Friday July 28^th, 2023 at 1539 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a medical emergency in the 22000 block of Grebe Lane in the Bay Forest Club development.  Upon arrival of both our ambulance crew and Sussex County Paramedics, it was determined the patient was suffering a severe stroke and needed to be flown to an advanced stroke care facility for specialized treatment.  The Delaware State Police Aviation division, located in Georgetown, was requested to make a response to transport the patient.  A landing zone was established at Fire Station 1 located on Atlantic Avenue in Millville.  Engine 84-2, Engine 84-4, Traffic Control 84-13, Command 84-8, Ambulance A-84, Sussex County Medic 105 and Delaware Trooper 2 made the response.  Units operated for approximately 30 minutes.  Lieutenant Max Stong had command of the incident.
