On August 29^th, 2023 at 1244 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire company along with the mutual aid street assignment (Bethany Beach VFC) were alerted for a ruptured gas line in the 30000 block of Kona Drive in the Marlin Chase development north of Ocean View in the Cedar Neck area.  Units arrived to find that construction crews hit an underground gas line with heavy equipment.  The area was evacuated, air monitoring was conducted and the gas line was secured by the gas company.  Engine 84-2, Rescue 84, Quint 70-4, Traffic Control 84-13, Command 84-8 and Ambulance D-84 made the response.  Units operated for approximately one hour.  Assistant Chief Guy Rickards had command.  #millvilledefire
