On Monday October 30^th, 2023 at 1226 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company along with the Southeast Water Rescue Task Force was dispatched to a water rescue in the area of the Holts Landing State Park north of Millville.  The initial report indicated a male subject in the water having trouble getting back into his boat approximately 2000 feet from the dock.  Units arrived to find that the male subject was able to get back into his boat himself and was no longer in distress.  The boat was escorted back to the dock by the crew of Marine 84.  Upon arrival at the dock the male subject refused medical evaluation.  Units cleared the scene shortly thereafter.  Mutual aid was provided by the Bethany Beach VFC, Dagsboro VFD, Indian River VFC, Delaware State Police Aviation, Sussex County EMS, DNREC and USCG.  Rescue 84, Utility 84-11, Command 84-8, Marine 84, Traffic Control 84-13 and Ambulance D-84 made the response. Lieutenant Ty Webb had command of the incident.
