On Wednesday November 22nd, 2023 at 1150 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company along with the Mutual Aid Box Alarm Assignment and the Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to the 38000 block of Piney Point Road in Cedar Neck for a reported house fire. Units arrived to find a two story home with smoke showing. The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes. Primary and secondary searches were negative. Engine 84-2, Rescue 84, Tanker 84, Brush 84-0, Command 84-8 and Traffic Control 84-13 made the response. Mutual aid was provided by Bethany Beach VFC, Roxana VFC, Dagsboro VFD, Frankford VFC and the Sussex County Paramedics. Units operated for approximately 90 minutes. Deputy Chief Paul Sterling had command of the incident. The fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.
