On Wednesday April 10, 2024 at 20:57hrs the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the 34000 block of Buckeye Lane in Dagsboro for a reported fire - nature unknown. Fire Chief Walt Johnson arrived on the scene to a large pile of construction materials on fire in the rear of the residence. Engine 84-4 arrived on the scene as the first due engine and was instructed to pull 1 3/4" bumper line to extinguish the fire. 84-2 arrived as second due engine and pulled a secondary line and supplied Engine 4. Rescue 84 as first due special and assisted in overhaul of pile. DNREC was requested to scene to contact homeowner of proper burning procedures. The fire was placed under control in approximately 30 minutes. Engine 84-2, Engine 84-4, Rescue 84, A-84,D-84,Traffic Control 84-13 and Fire Police made the response.
