On Sunday July 7^th, 2024 at 1612 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported brush fire in the 39000 block of Bayfront Drive in the Quillen’s Point Development.  Upon the arrival of the first unit smoke was showing from the residence.  The alarm was upgraded to a structure fire bringing the remainder of the mutual aid box alarm assignment in grid 84-70.  Units were able to contain the fire to the utility room and checked the remainder of residence for extension with none found.  Units operated for approximately 1 hour.  Brush 84-0, Engine 84-2, Tanker 84, Command 84-8, Traffic Control 84-13, Ambulance C-84 and Ambulance A-84 made the response.  The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigation the cause of the fire.  Fire Chief Walter Johnson had command of the incident.
