On Tuesday August 6^th, 2024 at 1230 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company along with the Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a traumatic injury at the pool on Summerwind Boulevard in the Millville by the Sea development.  Units arrived to find a seriously injured trauma patient and requested a helicopter from the Delaware State Police Aviation Division to transport the patient to a an area trauma center.  The patient was transported to Fire Station 1 on Atlantic Avenue and then flown to Christiana Care in Newark, Delaware.  Ambulance D-84, Ambulance C-84, Engine 84-2, Command 84-8 and Traffic Control 84-13 made the response.  Career Chief Jack Wilson had command.  Units operated for approximately 30 minutes.
