On Saturday September 14^th, 2024 members of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company attended the 2^nd Annual Hero’s Day at Evans Park in Millville.  The event was organized by the Town of Millville to recognize the everyday heroes that live and work within the Millville Fire District and surrounding communities.  The event was well attended and the weather was great.  The Millville Volunteer Fire Company provided static displays of our new Engine-Tanker 84-4, Ambulance D-84, Command 84-8 and Ranger 84.  Our new public engagement tent was on display and members handed out fire prevention materials to the public.  A CPR table was available to teach community members Hands Only CPR.  Our members provided a vehicle rescue demonstration at noon for event goers.  A strong contingent of Millville VFC Fire Police were in attendance and tasked with roadway safety along Dukes Drive and the safe and efficient parking for those that attended.  Other agencies in attendance were the Delaware State Police and the Bethany Beach Police Department.  The Delaware State Police Command Post and DSP Helicopter Trooper 2 also made a guest appearance.  Diamond State DJ Davis did a great job of entertaining the crowd and keeping the event attendees informed of the ongoing activities.  Food trucks were in attendance to feed the hungry.  Face painting, balloon artists, games, and blow up amusements were available for the kids’ entertainment.  The Millville VFC would like to thank the Town of Millville for the opportunity to attend this awesome event that recognizes the efforts of our first responders.  See you next year!
