On Sunday September 15^th, 2024 at 1116 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company along with the Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to the 38000 block of Thistle Court in the Bethany Meadows development for a traumatic injury.  Units arrived to find a seriously injured patient requiring transport to a trauma center.  Aviation was requested bringing Delaware Trooper 2 to the scene.  A landing zone was established at Melson’s Funeral Chapel on Muddy Neck Road.  The patient was flown to Christiana Care in Newark, Delaware.  Engine 84-2, Command 84-8, Ambulance B-84 and C-84 made the response.  Units operated for approximately 40 minutes.  Fire Chief Walter Johnson had command of the incident.
