On Friday morning October 18th, 2024 at 0749 hours, Rescue Box 84-90 was dispatched bringing the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, Roxana VFC and the Sussex County Paramedics to Camp Barnes Road in the area of the Estuary Development for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment. Units arrived to find a two vehicle collision with a work truck on its side. The occupants of the work truck were able to self-extricate prior to our arrival. The additional units dispatched on the rescue box were recalled. A total of three patients were evaluated at the scene but none were transported. Engine 84-6, Rescue 84, Tower 90, Command 84-8, Traffic Control 84-13, Ambulance A-84, Ambulance D-84, Medic 105 and Medic 109 made the response. Fire Police from both companies worked diligently to keep our personnel safe while operating at the scene and then getting the morning rush hour traffic back underway. Units operated for approximately one hour. Captain Douglas Scott had command of the incident. The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.
