On Saturday November 23^rd, 2024 the Millville Volunteer Fire Company laid to rest Life Member, Past Fire Chief and Past President Roger W. Hitchens.  A viewing and funeral service was held at the Ocean View Church of Christ followed by internment at the Mariners Bethel Global Methodist Church cemetery.  May Roger rest in eternal peace with the Lord. 

The Millville Volunteer Fire Company would like to thank the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company and the Roxana Volunteer Fire Company for the use of their ladder trucks for flag duty at the cemetery.  We would like to thank the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company and the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company for district coverage during the services.  We would also like to thank the Ocean View Police Department and nearby Fire Police agencies for their assistance with traffic control during the procession.  There have been many businesses and individuals that have helped the MVFC this past week put together a fitting tribute for Roger, we are thankful and grateful for their support.
