On January 25, 2025 @13:38 a box alarm for the Millville Volunteer Fire Company (84-2, 84-4, 84-6, T84) along with Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company (Q70-5, L70), were dispatched to Paynard Aly in Ocean View for a reported Shed Fire. Units arrived to find a detached, single story, shed structure with smoke and flames showing with additional exposure to an adjacent camping trailer. Millville 84-2 arrived on scene and deployed multiple lines to extinguish the fire. Due to the location of the property and shed the Engine Tanker and Tanker 84 were deployed to supply water. Bethany Beach Fire Co was able to relay water to Engine 84-2 from the hydrant on the road leading into the address location. EMS Support provided by Millville C84 and Bethany Beach B70, and the scene was protected by Fire Police. Chief Walt Johnson was in command of the incident. The Fire Marshal was dispatched to investigate. Overhaul of the debris was completed, and units were cleared from the scene. Units operated for approximately 1 hour.
