On Friday April 21^st, 2023 the annual Phoenix Awards were held at Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, Delaware.  The Millville Volunteer Fire Company would like to congratulate the following career staff and volunteer members of the MVFC for receiving a Phoenix Award for their life saving efforts that saved lives in our communities in 2022. Every year the Sussex County Phoenix Award Ceremony is held and honors EMT’s, Paramedics, Firefighters, Dispatchers, Police Officers and civilians who have gone above and beyond to save a person’s life.  The following MVFC members, career and volunteer were recognized:

Lieutenant Brian McConologue, FF/EMT Tyler Hickman, FF/EMT Evan Tucker, FF/EMT Michael Knowles, FF/EMT Steve Gilbert, FF/EMT Joell Dougherty, FF/EMT Colby Norwood, FF/EMT Alex Shores, FF/EMT Glenn Johnson, FF/EMT Jerry Carter, FF/EMT Megan Hudson, FF/EMT Paul  Collison, FF/EMT Nick Jones, FF/EMT Casey Daisey, EMT Lillian Taylor, Fire Chief Walter Johnson, Asst. Chief Mike Melson, Chief Engineer Jack Melson, Engineer Johnny Stephens and Engineer Dennis Ayers.  Not all members were able to attend the ceremony.

The MVFC would like to thank these individuals and our team at the MVFC for a doing a great job every single day, protecting the citizens of our communities, and for giving a person a second chance at life. We are proud of their efforts.  #millvilledefire
