The Millville and Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Companies, along with the US Coast Guard, responded for a water rescue on Monday, November 21st to a duck hunter and his dog who were unable to get back to shore due to the severe low tide as a result of the super moon. It was estimated that the hunter and his dog were stranded in the mud for approximately 4 hours. It was a happy ending with both the hunter and his dog surviving the ordeal!

Yes ladies and gentlemen, it is the time of year when schools are opening their doors for the 2016-2017 school year. This means the large yellow school buses will be on the road in the early morning and late afternoon. Please be mindful of buses when you see their yellow and red flashing lights. The yellow lights are a caution to drivers to slow down and be prepared to stop. The red flashing lights mean you need to stop. It is unlawful to pass a stopped school bus with its red flashing lights activated. Failure to do so will subject the driver to an arrest and fine. We also have students who walk to school. Be ever mindful of those students walking to school on the sidewalks. Let's have an accident free school year, and give the students and bus drivers a "BRAKE"!
