Man Pinned By Car

January 16, 2016

On Saturday, January 16,2016 at 1239 hours, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 37000 Block of Fairway Drive in the Forest Landing Development. The responders arrived to a man pinned by his car who had been doing some work to it. Units responding to the incident were: Ambulances A & C-84, Sussex County Paramedic Unit 105, 84 Command, Rescue 84, Engines 84-4 & 84-2. The injured person was transported to Beebe Medical Center in Ambulance C-84 with unspecified injuries. Deputy Chief Cody Lockwood declared the situation under control at 1235 hours. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”

At the Millville Volunteer Fire Company Inc. Annual Awards Banquet held on January 16th, 2016, John L. Stephens was named the Millville Volunteer Fire Company “Firefighter of the Year” for 2015.

2-Vehicle Accident

On December 22, 2015 at 1056 hours, the Millville & Bethany Beach Fire Companies were dispatched to a 2-vehicle accident at the intersection of Beaver Dam Road & Central Avenue, along with Medic 105, and Delaware State Police Trooper 2. Units responding to the scene were: ambulances A & C84, Medic 105, Rescue 84, Quint 70-04, 84-2, 84-4, & Traffic Control 70. C84 transported one patient to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes with non-life threatening injuries. Deputy Chief Cody Lockwood declared the scene under control at 1105 hours and turned the scene over to the Delaware State police for investigation. On December 2,2015, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at 32550 Docs Place in the Millville Medical Center. The Tactical Rescue Teams were alerted and dispatched since the emergency involved a car into a building. The police noted that the foot of the operator of a Ford Edge slipped off the brake pedal as he was parking and stepped on the gas pedal. The operator of the vehicle was uninjured and transported to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes for observation. No one inside the building was injured. Millville Deputy Chief Cody Lockwood declared the scene under control at 1542 hours. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY!"

Lord Baltimore Lions Club Makes Donates $1,000 Donation to Building Fund

Lord Baltimore Lions Club members Carl & Anne Gude, and Jack & Janet Bauer attended the November 17 meeting of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company to make a $1,000 donation to the fire company's building fund. Their generous donation received a standing ovation from the members of the fire company, who were very much appreciative of this great display of generosity!
