Lord Baltimore Lions Club Makes Donates $1,000 Donation to Building Fund

Lord Baltimore Lions Club members Carl & Anne Gude, and Jack & Janet Bauer attended the November 17 meeting of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company to make a $1,000 donation to the fire company's building fund. Their generous donation received a standing ovation from the members of the fire company, who were very much appreciative of this great display of generosity!

Single Vehicle Accident

On October 1, 2015 at 1525 hours, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a single vehicle accident in the 34000 Block of Central Avenue. The operator ran off the roadway into a wooded area and refused to be transported to an area hospital. Millville Volunteer Fire Company Chief Doug Scott declared the scene under control at 1537 hours. Units responding to the incident were: Command 84-8, Ambulances A & B-84, and Engine 84-1. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY!"

Single Vehicle Accident With Extrication

September 26, 2015

On Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 2347 hours, the Millville and Bethany Beach Fire Companies, Sussex County Paramedics, Delaware State Police Medic Helicopter Trooper 2, along with an ambulance assist from the Roxana Fire Company, responded to a single vehicle accident in the 34000 block of Burbage road. The responders arrived to find a Mazda Miata that cut a power pole in half. The driver was out of the vehicle, but the individual in the passenger seat had to be extracted from the vehicle. Roxana's ambulance B-90 transported the driver to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Delaware State Police Medic Helicopter Trooper 2 also transported the passenger to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Bethany Beach Fire Chief Brian Martin declared the scene under control at 00:25 hours and turned it over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. Additional units on the scene were: Ambulance B-84, Engine 84-1, Rescue 84, Command 70, Quint 70-4, and Bethany Beach Ambulance A-70. The Delaware Electric Cooperative was notified of the power pole hazard and arrived on the scene to make their necessary repairs. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”

Happy Reunion For A Critically Injured Teen

On Saturday, September 5, 2015, teenager Ben Sawczuck and his family were reunited with the rescuers who provided life saving care to him after being involved in a very serious bicycle accident on August 17, 2007, in South Bethany on Route 1 and 9th Street sustaining very critical injuries. Ben, who is now 16 years old, still has no memory of the incident.
