Electrical Fire Bear Trap Dunes Clubhouse

February 28, 2016

On Sunday, February 28, 2016, at 1428 hours, the Millville and Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Companies were dispatched to an electrical fire in the Bear Trap Dunes Club House. Units responding to the scene were 84-2, 84-6, 84-4, Ladder 84, Quint 70-4,Station 84 Fire Police and Ocean View Police Officers Caselli and Hopkins. The situation was declared under control by Millville Deputy Chief Cody Lockwood at 1455 hours. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY"

Gas Leak in Forest Landing

At 2059 hours on February 11th, 2016 the Millville VFC along with one engine from the Roxana VFC were dispatched to a gas leak in the 36000 block of W. Pebble Drive in the Forest Landing Development.

Heavy Equipment Assist

February 02, 2016

On February 2, 2016, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was called for a heavy equipment assist at 1101 hours. A tractor trailer hauling a piece of heavy equipment for paving cut a turn too short and the trailer ended up in a ditch. A heavy duty wrecker was called in, but could not get the trailer out of the ditch. The Millville Volunteer Fire Company responded with Rescue 84 and deployed their air bags, which resulted in the trailer being able to get free and open up the intersection it was blocking. The situation was mitigated at 1325 hours and Woodland Avenue was back open for traffic.

Millville Vol Fire Co Assists Roxana Vol Fire Co. -Working Structure Fire

On Monday, February 1, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company provided a standby crew at Roxana's station during a working structure fire in which over one million dollars of damage occurred to two stuctures.

Millville Vol Fire Co Assists Rehoboth Beach Fire Co 2 Times in a 24 Hour Period

The Millville Volunteer Fire Company assisted the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company 2 times with a Rescue assist within a 24 hour period on January 18 & 19 for working structure alarms. The first alarm came in at 2358 hours on Tuesday the 18th and was declared under control at 0142 hours. The second alarm came in at 1215 hours and was declared under control at 1503 hours. In the second alarm Rescue 84 was sent to the scene to assist with manpower. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY!"

Man Pinned By Car

January 16, 2016

On Saturday, January 16,2016 at 1239 hours, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 37000 Block of Fairway Drive in the Forest Landing Development. The responders arrived to a man pinned by his car who had been doing some work to it. Units responding to the incident were: Ambulances A & C-84, Sussex County Paramedic Unit 105, 84 Command, Rescue 84, Engines 84-4 & 84-2. The injured person was transported to Beebe Medical Center in Ambulance C-84 with unspecified injuries. Deputy Chief Cody Lockwood declared the situation under control at 1235 hours. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”

On December 22, 2015 at 1056 hours, the Millville & Bethany Beach Fire Companies were dispatched to a 2-vehicle accident at the intersection of Beaver Dam Road & Central Avenue, along with Medic 105, and Delaware State Police Trooper 2. Units responding to the scene were: ambulances A & C84, Medic 105, Rescue 84, Quint 70-04, 84-2, 84-4, & Traffic Control 70. C84 transported one patient to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes with non-life threatening injuries. Deputy Chief Cody Lockwood declared the scene under control at 1105 hours and turned the scene over to the Delaware State police for investigation.
