On October 1, 2015 at 1525 hours, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a single vehicle accident in the 34000 Block of Central Avenue. The operator ran off the roadway into a wooded area and refused to be transported to an area hospital. Millville Volunteer Fire Company Chief Doug Scott declared the scene under control at 1537 hours. Units responding to the incident were: Command 84-8, Ambulances A & B-84, and Engine 84-1. On Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 2347 hours, the Millville and Bethany Beach Fire Companies, Sussex County Paramedics, Delaware State Police Medic Helicopter Trooper 2, along with an ambulance assist from the Roxana Fire Company, responded to a single vehicle accident in the 34000 block of Burbage road. The responders arrived to find a Mazda Miata that cut a power pole in half. The driver was out of the vehicle, but the individual in the passenger seat had to be extracted from the vehicle. Roxana's ambulance B-90 transported the driver to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Delaware State Police Medic Helicopter Trooper 2 also transported the passenger to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Bethany Beach Fire Chief Brian Martin declared the scene under control at 00:25 hours and turned it over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. Additional units on the scene were: Ambulance B-84, Engine 84-1, Rescue 84, Command 70, Quint 70-4, and Bethany Beach Ambulance A-70. The Delaware Electric Cooperative was notified of the power pole hazard and arrived on the scene to make their necessary repairs. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”

On Saturday, September 5, 2015, teenager Ben Sawczuck and his family were reunited with the rescuers who provided life saving care to him after being involved in a very serious bicycle accident on August 17, 2007, in South Bethany on Route 1 and 9th Street sustaining very critical injuries. Ben, who is now 16 years old, still has no memory of the incident.

On August 7, 2015 at 1544 hours, the Millville and Roxana Volunteer Fire Companies, Sussex County Paramedics, Delaware State Police medical helicopter Trooper 2, DNREC, and Hazmat 83 were dispatched to a two vehicle MVC involving a tractor trailer and a Ford Escape at the intersection of Roxana and Powell Farm Roads. Millville responded with Ambulances A & B-84, 84 Command, Engines 84-1 & 84-4. Roxana responded with Rescue 90. The Ford Escape was flipped upside down with the lone occupant trapped in the vehicle. The responders proceeded to stabilize the vehicle and then extricated the occupant. He was transported to Beebe Medical Center in B-84 with nonlife-threatening injuries. The operator of the tractor trailer did not sustain any injuries. There was a small fuel spill from the tractor trailer that the responders took care of with absorbent materials. Deputy Cody Lockwood declared the scene under control at 1627 hours and turned it over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY!"

On Monday, August 3 at 2143 hours, the Bethany Beach, Millville, Rehoboth Beach, Roxana, Frankford, Dagsboro, Ocean City Fire Company, Sussex County Paramedics, and State Fire Marshal's Office were dispatched to a garage fire in the 400 Block of Black Gum Drive in South Bethany. Twenty-one pieces of apparatus were dispatched to the incident. The situation was declared under control at 2202 hours. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY!"

On Thursday, July 23 at 1646 hours, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a box alarm at Harpoon Hannas, along with the Bethany Beach, Roxana, and Ocean City Fire departments, and Sussex County Paramedics. The responders arrived to a fire in the area of the Mechanical Room. The situation was declared under control at 1727 hours. Millville Volunteer Fire Company responded with the following equipment: Ambulance B-84, Engine 84-1, Truck 84, Engine 84-6, and 84 Command. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY!"

MILLVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY AND SUSSEX COUNTY MEDIC 105 RESPONDED TO AN MVC WITH INJURIES

On Friday, July 3, 2015, at 1439 hours, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Roxana Volunteer Fire Company with a single vehicle accident involving a Jeep with 5 patients. Ambulances A-84 & C-84 responded along with Command 84 and Engine 84-1. Ambulance A-84 transported a patient to the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, and Ambulance B-84 transported a patient to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Roxana declared the scene under control at 1503 hours. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY!"

On Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 0814 hours, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle accident involving a bicycle. Ambulances C-84 and A-84 arrived first and started patient care on the cyclist. When Engine 84-1 arrived on the scene, EMS Chief John Watson established command and assigned the crew to assist with patient care. The BLS crew requested an upgrade to ALS and Aviation. The crew of Engine 84-6 was assigned to the Landing Zone. EMS Chief Watson investigated the vehicle and bike and found the bicycle had been broken in half, and there was significant damage to the vehicle. The crew of Paramedics from Station 105 arrived on scene and took over the care of the cyclist. The patient was transported to the landing zone and flown to the Christiana Care facility by Delaware State Police Trooper 2 with non-life-threatening injuries.
