After decades of courageous service, today we gathered to celebrate the remarkable career of a dedicated firefighter and EMT, Wally Evans who has devoted much of his life to the safety and well-being of our community. From battling fires to providing life-saving care in critical moments, his unwavering commitment and bravery have made a profound impact on countless lives.

It is with deep regret that President Hocker announces the passing of Harold C. Lloyd on the morning of June 9, 2025. Harold was a member of the company for over 60 years, having joined on August 4, 1964.

On April 16, 2025 we published a press release about a race related incident that occurred within Millville Vol Fire Co. As part of that press release we made promises to review policies and training. We have done that!

The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice invited us to participate in a panel discussion focused on racial discrimination and hate crimes. The purpose of the meeting is to advocate for the cessation of hate incidents and harassment directed towards African Americans in Sussex County.

March 5, 2025, at 5:08 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a box alarm for a reported structure fire on Scarborough Lane in Ocean View, within the Beach Club neighborhood.

Training for situations requiring water in areas that are not served by fire hydrants. This requires coordination of equipment, water supply sources and communication to keep the water supply available for fire fighters.

We are proud to announce that many members and staff of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company received the Phoenix Award this evening. Sussex County Medical Services and The Phoenix Club recognize individuals who have survived near-death cardiac events, as well as honor the first responders who assisted them.

Today, we had an opportunity to participate in joint training with station 70 Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company. It's great to train in real-world situations instead of props and with members of our neighboring company.
