On March 5, 2024, at the monthly company meeting of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company President Gregory Hocker presented Mr. Jack Melson with a plaque recognizing Mr. Melson for his outstanding service representing the company as the Chief Engineer for the last several years.

On Sunday March 3rd, 2024 several members of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company attended the final day of a Delaware State Fire School Pump Operators Course.

On Friday February 16th, 2024 Mr. Pat Sheardon, with the assistance of Mr. Eric Evans, members of the Scottish Rite, delivered Wawa gift cards to EMS Chief Jackie Wilson for our Firefighter/EMTs to have a meal on busy days.

On Tuesday February 13, 2024 Vice President and Sussex County Officer Diane Koch from First Shore Federal Bank in Millville presented Millville Volunteer Fire Company President Greg Hocker with a check for $500.00 to go toward our Community Hero’s Capital Campaign.

On Saturday February 10th, 2024 at 1532 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched on Box 76-73-84, along with the Dagsboro VFD to assist the Frankford VFC with a reported house fire in the 40 block of Thatcher Street in Frankford.

On Thursday February 8th, 2024 at 1211 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, along with the Dagsboro VFD were alerted to assist the Frankford VFC with a reported structure fire in the 30000 block of Omar Road just east of Frankford.

On Sunday February 4th, 2024 at 1723 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company also with the Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Burbage Road and Powell Farm Road south of Clarksville.

Several weeks ago the Millville VFC reached out to our community asking for additional participants for our Chili Cook-Off that was held yesterday as part of the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce Fire and Ice Festival.

On Saturday January 27th, 2024 from 11am-3pm at Millville Fire Station 1, located at 35554 Atlantic Avenue, as part of the 2024 Fire & Ice Festival, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company is holding our annual Chili Cook-Off.

We know this is late notice, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are having a Chili Cook-Off at the Millville Volunteer Fire Company as part of the Annual Fire & Ice Festival. We have had several restaurants drop out due to staffing shortages and we need more participants to help us make this a successful event. The date of the event is Saturday January 27th, 2024 from 11am – 3pm.

The Millville Volunteer Fire Company would like to thank Denise Beam State Farm Insurance for sponsoring the ice sculpture of a fire truck that adorned our event main entrance yesterday during the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce Fire and Ice Festival, Millville VFC Chili Cook-Off.

On Friday afternoon and evening January 26th, 2024, members of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, in support of the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce Fire and Ice Festival, attended an opening night event at the Millville Boardwalk.

Earlier this week the Millville Volunteer Fire Company conducted a company drill to review our crosslay hose loads.

On Saturday evening January 13th, 2024 the Millville Volunteer Fire Company held its 71st Annual “Ladies Night” Banquet. The banquet was held at the Roxana Volunteer Fire Company.
